Final reminder for CVA Youth basketball sign ups

Good afternoon Fisher Families.  Below is a message from Josh McGuire, coordinator for the CVA Youth Basketball League.

Parents,
It is that time of year to sign up for boys’ and girls’ youth basketball. Below is the information
regarding the program.
 Boys and Girls in grades 1-6 are welcomed.
 Sign-ups at the Ilion Elks Club
o Thursday October 2 6:00 – 7:30 pm
o Saturday October 11 10:00 am – Noon
o Tuesday October 14 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
 Cost: $50 per player, or $75 per family, and checks or cash will be accepted.
 Volunteer coaches will be needed, and players will need to play at their grade levels.
 Please know the shirt size of your child when signing up.
Program design.
 All players will participate in what we call the “Intramural Program”. During this time,
athletes will do skills and drills at a minimum of one time per week and eventually play
inter squad games vs CVA kids within their grade levels. This is for all players, novice to
advance.
 There will be opportunities for athletes to play in the Dick Miller league in Utica. This
will be for the most advanced players, and there is also an additional fee to play for this
league. Dick Miller league is highly competitive, and for the most advanced players in
each grade level, grades 4-6 boys, and a combined 5/6 grade team for girls.
 Along with athletes participating in the Dick Miller league, more/other athletes may be
selected to play in the “Valley League”, where you play games against local schools.
Again, there is an additional charge for this league as well.
