Entry onto campus

Posted Date: 06/18/26 (04:00 PM)

Good afternoon all.

Before we begin our long weekend, I want to take a moment to address an issue that has been brought to my attention from one of the residents in our surrounding neighborhood.

It is being asked of me to ask drivers making the right turn off of Johnson street onto Fisher Avenue to slow down please.  I'm being told it is common for drivers to take the right turn too fast, accelerating up the hill to gain access to our campus.

It is imperative that drivers entering campus are always cognizant that we have little children moving about the campus, frequently outside if the weather allows.  Speeding up the entrance hill and through the roadway past the main entrance and off of campus can not happen, as that could endanger students and staff moving about the parking lot.

I know it is the end of the year, but the concerned neighbor asked if I could reach out to the community to ask all drivers to use caution and slow down entering our parking lot.

Your cooperation with this request is greatly appreciated for the remainder of this year, and continuing into next year.

Thank you
Mr. Murphy
